Syncinéma is a non-disciplinary research project which reflects on the ways cinematographic contents are mediated and distributed.

The purpose of the research is to trace a genealogy of case studies on the concept of cutting and editing not only as cinematographic practices but also spaces of self-management and resistance, as ways of positioning and breaking with certain classical reception strategies. Editing is not only a technique but also an instrument for analysing the mechanisms that add value, define, organise, reproduce and distribute discourses in our contemporary era.

While editing can be viewed as the distillation of a worldview, a way of understanding and navigating the flow of information, an attempt to rethink reality and mobilise other spaces of thinking based on engagement with an object or an action in a given space, distribution allows us to activate divergent forms of global discourses in order to question some particular devices aimed at containment and capitalisation.
