Frames Rocío
This project is based on the publication of a flipbook showing the frames from the documentary Rocío which were eliminated by ruling of the Supreme Court. It includes a total of 2,987 frames which are reproduced with drawings or watercolours. The publication also includes a DVD with the censored version of the documentary Rocío. Directed by Fernando Ruiz Vergara, this film premiered in 1980 and was the first documentary made in Spain about the repression exercised by the Franco side during the Civil War, as well as the first film to be legally seized in Spain after the approval of the 1978 Constitution.
Centre d’Art La Panera de Lleida, in conjunction with the Sala d’Art Jove of the Government of Catalonia, presents the publication project chosen in the Art Jove 2015 call for proposals, Frames Rocío
