CUINA SITUADA I COMUNITÀRIA: CO-LABORATORI DE RESISTÈNCIA
The Cuina situada i comunitària: co-laboratori de resistència project involves cooking as a tool for experimentation and using it to explore and address the problems which come together at our tables. It is about understanding the ties between food, rurality and community and investigating the social and ecological challenges of our contemporary society. The research seeks to demonstrate the need to reclaim cooking as a political act and aims to generate encounters for cooking and eating together as spontaneous learning of celebration. Cooking unfolds as an act of resistance to build community and food becomes a political tool for collective thinking. What we eat and nourishes us is an indicator of individual and collective identities.
It is about approaching cooking through performative exploration, connecting through new dialogues, sharing knowledge and tastes, emotions, food, experiences, affections and narratives. Through short-lived installations and spatial hacks, we seek to create sensorial experiences where meeting points are generated to reveal the ritual of shared cooking.
The project focuses on the Sant Antoni community kitchen, a cooking venue open to local residents, organisations and groups in this Barcelona neighbourhood which strives to meet the community’s needs.
Cuina situada i comunitària: co-laboratori de resistència is part of the collaboration between ACVic, Centre d’Arts Contemporànies, and la Sala d’Art Jove.
The project is accompanied by Marina Monsonís.
