COVA BONICA

Cova Bonica is the name of a cave in the town of Vallirana, in El Baix Llobregat. The project I am proposing is a formal and linguistic investigation into the disorder of the syntax of an article describing Neolithic materials found in this cave in the 1950s. The re-reading of these texts raises, in this case, the inability of words to describe the materials, since the study was not completed with a stratigraphic record of the extraction and, consequently, it was not possible to compare information about their location in the cave and the distance between the pieces.

From here arises my interest in applying an alternative reading of the descriptions that suggests the deviation that the chronological line of these objects has undergone. De-localised and decontextualised, they can now only be witnesses of themselves and of their form and materiality.

I propose to formalise performative new media reading practices with disordered choreographies that also involve video images, photographs, graphics, maps, and diagrams that are crystallised for the research.

The project is accompanied by Violeta Mayoral.
