SLANG

Slang is a project that emerges from symbolic interactionism, formed by images that explore the paralinguistic phenomenon of gesture, which is articulated through culture and beliefs. It proposes an exercise that allows us to broaden our perception of an apparently simple gesture to understand the multiplicity of meanings that can be associated with it. In particular, it analyses the sign of the promise, which is entirely symbolic and experiential. The project sets out an essay that records and offers a polyhedral view of this act, which is driven by social coercion induced by an organised and hierarchical system. Thus, reflecting on how this coercion affects our gestural behaviour and interaction with the environment.

The project has received support from Tanit Plana.
