POSTALES SONORAS DE LA INTIMIDAD: UNA GRABADORA MIGRANTE
Postales sonoras de la intimidad: una grabadora migrante is the continuation of my Master’s research in sound art. The project explores the sound of our intimacy through active and collective listening to fields and voices which have been recorded with a digital recorder.
During the first stage, I recorded sound postcards of seven migrants in Barcelona with a digital recorder carried in a Post Office envelope.
The Art Jove call means I will be able to undertake the second stage of the process: sending the recorder to Chile to record new sound postcards and reflecting on listening to intimacy and the migrant experience from a personal perspective.
In this research I ask myself the following questions: which voices and sounds generate feelings of intimacy in our spaces? How can I trigger my auditory memory by recognising sounds from my land? What happens to the body with the dislocation of sound and the timeless listening to sound postcards recorded by friends, family and loved ones?
The project is accompanied by Luna Acosta.
