(DES)MEMÒRIA DESVIADA

This project comes, on the one hand, from the need to generate, visibly and subtly, non-hegemonic representations, languages and forms that broaden collective imaginaries and make all lives more passable in (semi-)rurality. On the other hand, it stems from the wish to thank and acknowledge all the people who lent their bodies to trace deviant trajectories, who generated others and had to go into sexile in the metropolis or in convents, and those who were never allowed to come out of the closet.

(Des)memòria desviada is a process of research into the historical memory of the LGBTIAQ+ collective in Osona based on archives and, at the same time, a transformation intended to generate a queer community imaginary. The aim is to play with the boundaries of what is real (what happened) and what is fictitious or private (what didn’t happen visibly but went on in private). The project appreciates the importance of first-person storytelling and creation. So, we propose to conduct a series of encounters (series of deviants) that aim to collectively reconstruct memory while also reinforcing queer identity in rural areas.

(The project has been supported by Nancy Garín.

Des)memòria desviada is part of the collaboration between ACVic, Centre d’Arts Contemporànies, and Sala d’Art Jove.
