The appropriation of memes, images and their alteration or juxtaposition can become tools for the subversion of fixed meanings. In this workshop, we will reflect on the images, their uses and their capacity to establish accounts. We will review some leading appropriations in contemporary art history, using humour to create new meanings and generate a debate on them from a feminist perspective.
