Coxo Adayarde is, at first, an exploration of the Quinceañera (fifteenth birthday celebration) and its transformational role in the diaspora. This search leads dancer Santiago Colorado to create a unique movement of his hips, exploring reggaeton and the ‘choque’ online phenomenon. What liberation narratives do these techno-cultural devices propose?

Based on the liquidity of inertia between bodies that enables the ‘choque’ move and ‘perreo’ or twerking celebratory space, this performance reflects on the hybrid body resulting from migrations. Santiago, his hips and his musical selection immerse us in a mutating experience in technological expansion.
