DISTENSIONS #1
Distensions aims to create a meeting space where artists selected by Art Jove Creació can share their experiences – whether challenges or work processes – that they will have amassed and left to one side over the course of the year. Inside the museum, we will help draft a set of tips and reflections on young artistic creation and ways of working. Distensions is a collective open and annual event held at MACBA as part of the Sala d’Art Jove collaboration
PROGRAMME:
18:00 – 19:30.
Sandy Moldavia. “*_I love you with all my heart_*”
Chat with Sandy Moldavia and Rita Rakosnik accompanied by a virtual tour of “*_Perfect Room_*“.
“*_I love you with all my heart_*” is the adolescent desire to create a virtual space where my alter ego, Sandy Moldavia, can hug, touch, laugh, cry and take selfies with avatars of her favourite artists: Dalila Virgolini, Tomoko Sawada, Shana Moulton, Molly Soda, Gillian Wearing and Pipilotti Rist. By creating a public virtual room called *_Perfect Room_* on the Zepeto app, the piece aims to go deeper – both theoretically and practically – into the management of affections within the fan phenomenon and the deification of celebrities of the moment in order to rethink these concepts based on relationships between the figure of the artist and their role models.
As such, the proposal approaches the cult of fame through a virtual construction of idols, but above all it is a manifestation of love. Aiming to set up an audiovisual cosmogony with artistic references, it meets the need to make a subject visible, drawing on lived experience as well as the dreamed and imagined, and therefore, going through the projections we create of others.
*We invite anyone who wants to attend this event to download the free Zepeto app beforehand.
19:30 – 21:30.
Néstor Ceniceros. “Doing, doing without doing or not doing. Ways of production and intervention within art”
This research seeks to examine the relationship between the artist, curator and institution; a relationship in which the work of art can determine whether it is a fraud, an agreement or a disagreement. By showcasing certain artistic projects typical of post-production such as appropriationism and fakes, the relationship sometimes plays out as prescribed while at other times it is vaguer. These case studies in the form of a tour allow the reader to approach the positioning of these three figures within the artistic field, flowing into the space in which everything occurs: the exhibition.
Later, the project moves into the domestic, virtual, public and private spaces, aiming to explore the various forms of production and intervention of a multitude of agents. Thanks to the participation of Esther Solé Alarcón, Maria Oliveras Gregorio, Claudio Alarcón Opazo, Enric Farrés Duran, Marc Vives Muñoz and Nestor Ceniceros González, the research presents the section ‘Uncertain Place’; a series of actions and events that generated the production of place from a distance and by instruction.
This activity is a collaboration with MACBA.
