DISTENSIONS #3. SARAO
Distensions aims to create a meeting space where artists selected by Art Jove Creació can share their experiences – whether challenges or work processes – that they will have amassed and left to one side over the course of the year. Inside the museum, we will help draft a set of tips and reflections on young artistic creation and ways of working. Distensions is a collective open and annual event held at MACBA as part of the Sala d’Art Jove collaboration.
Now in its third edition, this event will explore the concept of “sarao” (soirée in English) as a methodology for promoting artistic projects among the public. Within the framework of Renan Camilo’s curatorial proposal (Art Jove Curator grant 2023), the “sarao” is understood as a multidisciplinary intervention and cultural expression, open to diverse thematic and artistic performative expressions. Organised yet improvised, the “sarao” will give us the opportunity to experience shared knowledge or, in the words of Édouard Glissant, be involved “in the reflected density of existences”.
