PRESENTATION OF DIFERENTS FOC D’UN MATEIX INCENDI
“This publication is a charcoal, it is a living ash. It is a taste of the many experiences we have shared throughout the year. Understood as a malleable and collective archive, this publication has the vibrant imprint of shared knowledge, the touches of alliances woven in both a relaxed and slow way.
It starts from the ash, as an element that existed and remains, and it then approaches the processes, interests and formalizations of each of the artists. Secondly, the spark bursts, a warm lightning makes new fires emerge, which triggers fires that are the result of an anonymous cartography between the artists, of an epistolary circuit in which each response becomes a stimulus for the next. Thus, Diferents foc d’un mateix incendi is not a single ash or a single fire, but an ecosystem of multiple voices, desires, concerns and problems that have crossed Sala d’Art Jove throughout the year.
We understand this publication as an open and procedural fragment that takes place in a time lapse that stops now and here, a time lapse in which, after a few years, might be transformed into something else entirely, and burn in a different way.”
The edition includes a compilation of the proposals that were part of the Sala d’Art Jove during the year 2022, followed by an anonymous correspondence that some of the artists kept, taking the element of fire as a narrative starting point.
Taking advantage of the opening of the Tres Xemeneies, we will visit the outside of the building with the education team of Manifesta 15 and the curator Iris Verge (member of the Art Jove Curadoria 2022 curatorial team, together with Eduard Olesti and Aina Canyelles). From here we will relate the history of the site and the starting points that have motivated this publication.
