In La siesta de las cosas, Ángel González suggests that the function of art lies in its commensality, in its capacity to bring people together around something, something that consequently fosters dialogue and eventually becomes culture.

With this curatorial programme we want to position art as the centre that invites us to gather around the table, to tie ourselves together, to collectivise and to transform ourselves into central agents of coexistence. It is from this common space that we seek to raise and problematise the precariousness of the cultural sector so as to generate tools that allow us to overcome it. From a curatorial-relational practice, we use art to mediate, collectivise and sustain coexistence.

Steyer points out that “The field of art is a space of violent contradiction and tremendous exploitation. It is a place of gossip about power, speculation, financial engineering and wide, fraudulent manipulation. But it is also a place of community, movement, energy and desire”. We understand that our role as curators is to enable that place of community, movement, energy and desire.
